Memorial Meeting
For those unable to attend or concerned about visitor numbers, weather and terrain, please be reassured that a larger Memorial Meeting to celebrate Mehr's life will be held at the Chester Quaker Meeting House in March (date to be confirmed).
Date and Time
The funeral will take place on 26 January at Oakcroft Gardens, Malpas, Cheshire, SY14 8DH.
The house will be open with Mehr present, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm, where we ask you to remove your shoes at the entrance at the kitchen or Nicco's room. Due to limited capacity, visitors are kindly suggested to plan to spend no longer than 30 minutes in the house to ensure there is room for other guests to pay their respects.The Yoga room will also be open at this time, where shoes can be kept on.
Location and parking
Please park along the lane alongside the property leading to the wood below, ensuring that there is space for cars to pass. For a map, please see "Our Location" on the "contact us" page
Service and Burial
A Quaker-style ceremony will be held in the Yoga Room starting at 1:00 pm with a semi-structured approach: a few short readings in the yoga room, and otherwise largely silent with people speaking as moved. Following this, there will be a silent procession to Mehr's Woodland for the burial.
To help manage any risk of overcrowding, guests not invited to join the immediate funeral cortege are invited to follow the procession, if they wish.
Refreshments and Practicalities
After the ceremony, simple refreshments will be available in the Yoga Room, though please be aware that space may be limited.
Please wear warm clothes and sensible shoes suitable for mud and woodland terrain. In accordance with Mehr's wishes, we request no flowers (specifically no cellophane or non-organic tributes).
